Rep. Mark Ferrandino, D-Denver, and Sen. Pat Steadman D-Denver, teamed up on a proposal for a tax-amnesty program this summer with a two-month window that would allow delinquent taxpayers to pay only what they owe plus one-half the current interest rate. Penalties would be waived.

Also in the bill, Senate Bill 184,  is a provision that state agencies identify the cost and effectiveness of tax credits and exemptions.

The amounts collected that exceed the cost of the program will be credited to the State Education Fund.  An estimated $15 is anticipated for the fund.
