The Senate approved Senate Bill 180  today, a measure  that would allow Denver based taxi-cabs to pick up passengers throughout the state while in the course of dropping of passengers.  The bill has bipartisan sponsorship with Sen.Lois Tochtrop, D-Thornton and Rep. Marsha Looper, R-Calhan.

Currently, the cabs, which are regulated by the state, can drop off passengers to remote destinations but are prohibited from picking up a fare upon return. The new provision, however, allowing the passenger pick-up, would not apply when dropping off at the airport.

The measure is now headed to the House for it’s consideration.
