Senate Bill 44 by Sen. Pat Steadman, D-Denver, addressing barriers that are faced by people who have a felony conviction as they re-enter society passed the Senate today.  The measure  is now headed to the House for consideration.

Anti bullying bill passes another hurdle

House Bill 1254, by Rep. Sue Schafer, D-Wheat Ridge, and Sen. Pat Steadman, D-Denver, updating existing bullying policies in schools, passed on a 5-2 vote in the Senate Education Committee.  The measure also calls for data collection, and  a website with anti-bullying resources. Next up for the bill is the Senate Appropriations Committee.
